American Contract Bridge League (ACBL) is hosting the North American Bridge Championship in Atlanta Aug. 1-11 at the Hyatt Regency.
Hundreds of bridge players from all around the world will be playing at this tournament, including University of Georgia’s own Murphy Green.
Green is a rising sophomore at UGA and plans on majoring in business.
To his knowledge, there is no bridge club at UGA, but that’s something he would like to fix during his time there.
While school is busy, Murphy always finds time to fit in the game of bridge.
The tournament he is participating in is open to the public and for those who might want to learn how to play bridge Sunday from 1 to 6 p.m., at the Hyatt.
ACBL will offer a seminar, “Learn Bridge in a Day.” It is aimed at true beginners and those who are returning to bridge after a long absence.
